FAQs

Where is my Secret Code?

Be sure to check your junk/spam folder, as sometimes our emails get falsely flagged as spam. If it’s not there, send us an email (using the email address you booked with) at hello@cardboardclues.com, and you should receive an automated email with your code as a reply.

Can I bring more players?

The game is designed for up to 5 players. You can bring more, but it might get crowded—some sections only accommodate 5, so extra players may have to sit out. There’s no additional charge if you all play as one group.

For the best experience, we recommend booking two consecutive slots and splitting into teams. Start about 10 minutes apart, and once everyone finishes, compare scores to see who did best!

Is Murder in the Museum suitable for children?

Yes, the event is designed to be family-friendly and suitable for children. All the mysteries are lighthearted and fun, with no graphic content. Great for kids who enjoy puzzles and a challenge. Recommended for ages 8+.

Is Murder in the Museum suitable for adults?

Absolutely! While the event is family-friendly, it’s designed to be challenging and engaging for all ages, including adults. Whether you’re a seasoned mystery solver or just looking for a fun and unique experience, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in this immersive adventure.

How much does it cost?

The cost is £25 per team of up to 5. The size of the team doesn’t affect the price — it’s always £25, regardless of the number of participants.

How many people can be on a team?

The maximum team size is 5 players. Have a bigger group? Split into smaller teams and adding a competitive twist — who can score the most points?

How does the app work?

The app is your guide throughout the adventure. It provides instructions, questions, clues, and prompts to help you progress through the mystery. While you’ll follow the app’s directions and answer questions, most of the game takes place in the real world as you explore the museum, discover clues, and piece together the story.

You will only need one phone to play the game.

How long does the experience last?

The entire experience typically takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete, but you can take your time exploring and enjoying the museum as you solve the mystery.

How do I start the game?

After booking your tickets, you’ll receive a unique code via email. On the day of your visit, enter this code into the app to unlock your adventure and begin solving the mystery.

What do I do when I arrive at the museum?

Simply activate the app with your code and head straight into the museum—no need to check in at the reception. Grab a map at the entrance, and you’re ready to start exploring and solving the mystery right away!
